Monoblock Power Amplifier

The MC1201 amplifier is fully double balanced from input to speaker output. Two matched amplifiers with complimentary balanced circuitry operate in a PUSH-PULL configuration. Their outputs are combined in a balanced "OUTPUT AUTOFORMER". The resulting double balanced configuration cancels virtually all distortion. This circuit is ONLY possible with the exclusive "McINTOSH OUTPUT AUTOFORMER" which provides proper matching for a 2, 4, or 8 ohm speaker, provides low distortion power transfer at frequencies well beyond the limits of human hearing, delivers peak output current in excess of 200 amperes and prevents speaker damage in the event of a failed output transistor.

The MC1201 hides its glorious sound and high power behind the famous glow of the McIntosh 1/2-inch thick illuminated glass panel. Its green nomenclature and the soft blue light of the wattmeter make it the world's most attractive power amplifier.
